The code which we had missed was written in VB6. Though you have to take care of pointers as they differ in 32-bit as well as 64-bit processes. Microsoft visual studio allows you to build 32-bit as well as 64-bit binaries. Most of the projects we had in our code base were C++ as well as C# projects. This is when I realized we have missed testing a big feature where user can export their data in excel. I just casually thought it might be a simple configuration issue. One evening, I was sipping a cup of tea and checking slack, when the testing team reported that few menu options are not coming in the product. We had completed most of the work and the regression team had partially signed it off and we were pretty relaxed and happy. It was a very big change just from the complexity perspective as the code size itself was around 10GB code and had 3.6 million lines of code. Recently we were migrating our product to run as 32-bit as well as a 64-bit process. Moving from a legacy COM-based VB6 Project to VB.Net Project: Challenges and Excitement
